Home with the wheezies

I don't know if I should blame Mercury retrograde (yeah because I believe in that sorta stuff) or the sleepless nights, but I am sick. The kind of sick that it hurts to type or text. I have a sore throat, a nasty cough, recurring fever, and a cold. It's most likely the flu, yeah, but I'm not used to getting this sick. Although I easily fall victim to food poisoning and empacho, I'm a generally healthy girl. Yiz.

It's my dad's birthday, my sister Cay's dance concert at the AC fair and Toni's birthday dinner/inuman and I'm not even sure if I can survive going out at this point. The temptation of beer and cigarettes will surely render me futile, so I don't know, might just stay in and get a rain check. :(

Okay, it's time to be random!

7 movies you'd watch over and over
- Clueless! (way too many quotable quotes and life lessons in this teen flick)
- Ferris Beuller's Day Off (young Matthew Broderick was way too cute and charismatic. SJP stole his thunder!)
- Breakfast Club
- Lost in Translation
- Baz Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet (everything about this film is awesome, from the soundtrack [When Doves Cry+The Wannadies You and Me Song+Des'ree=GOLDEN], to Leo's boyish charm and piercing blue eyes, plus John Leguizamo's portrayal of Tybalt...great film, really. The only thing I ever get tired of is Claire Danes' face. She creeps me out.)
- The Sound of Music ("High on a hill was a lonely goatherd/Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hooooooo!!!" HEHE. Seriously though I've been watching this since I was six and the part where they sing Edelweiss and escape afterwards still breaks my fucking heart. )
- Breakfast at Tiffany's (The scene where she's sitting on her windowsill, playing "Moon River" on her mandolin, is just so great. Plus Paul Varjak is just too smooth to deny.)
- You've Got Mail (because Meg Ryan pre-collagen + Tom Hanks were just too cute, endearing and believable together. I wanted to be Meg Ryan in that movie and have a quaint children's bookstore like Shop Around the Corner)

7 places you want to go to before you die

- Miley Cyrus' house, because she's my BFF and it would suck if I didn't even get to crash at her place at least once in my life. ILOVEYOUMILEY!!!

- Greece
- Scotland, mainly because of all the ale plus the deep fried everything! (pizza and Mars bars, in particular)
- Brazil
- Africa
- All the provinces in the Philippines I have yet to visit. I'd really love to go to Aurora, Siquijor, Samar (my grandfather's hometown) and explore more of Dumaguete. I'd like to visit Guimaras with Booch sometime soon, hopefully. :)

first 7 albums
hahaha I don't know if I can remember everything, but here are the ones that I recall, on either cassette (old iskol talaga!) or CD:
- New Kids on the Block's self-titled debut album ("Step by Step" was my favorite song when I was two, or so my mama tells me...)

- All Saints - All Saints
- Spice Girls - Wannabe
- Britney Spears - Baby One More Time

- The Jonas Brothers
- Zac Efron
- Steven Strait
- Glaiza de Castro (my crush of the moment, thanks to a conversation I had the other day with some of my friends about the video for Pupil's "Disconnection Notice". She's a prettier and more interesting version of Angel Locsin.)

7 greatest inventions
- television...movies...the camera, the iPod, cellphones, the computer + laptops (I know I'm cheating by forcing a bunch of answers into one item but is far too limiting :P )

Here are Erin Wasson and Justin Timberlake appearing together in the promotional videos for JT's clothing line William Rast. The two of them together is just way too much appeal for me. I feel like I'm going to hyperventilate any minute now.

(Carla these are the Erin Wasson + JT vids you were talking about!Haha :] )

The William Rast clothes are actually pretty great. A lot of basics that are cut well and weathered to perfection.

I am super craving for Miggy's Super Tacos and Bun on the Run. Too bad I can barely hold down food right now and Booch isn't around to food trip with. I really want a double chori burger, a burrito, cheese flautas, a chimichanga, nachos and churros!AHHH!!!

That's it for now. Enjoy what's left of the weekend and keep healthy!Drink lotsa OJ and take yer vitamins!

P.S. I miss Booch very much :| He's only been gone for two days but I've been sick and fragile and dying for his company. :|
P.P.S. - Apparently the Twilight film/novel comparison has been postponed indefinitely (I have a feeling definitely na nga eh haha). It's not in the best interest daw of the makers of the film franchise. Ahem. So yeah, we're not supposed to conduct those types of talks and meetings anymore. I feel kinda crappy because I felt "big time", and now my dorky, Twilighter dream has been crushed. How miserable :(
P.P.P.S. On a lighter note, this is pretty trivial. and funny. hehe!

Staying home alone on a Friday...

...because I have to finish some schoolwork, continue cleaning out my closet, bask in the loads and loads of new things my mom brought us from her trip to the US (thank you Mama I love you!) anddd yeah, that's about it. It's not bad at all, I enjoy staying home. I've turned into more of a "staying in" sort of person.

While I get to doing what must be accomplished, I leave you with all these crazy/beautiful shoes I have been going gaga over!

Nine West, Intermix, Balenciaga, Jak and Jil

If money didn't matter I would totally jump these shoes.

My mercury's on retrograde

It's already 8:05 am in the PH and I am still wide awake. I should really get some sleep, especially since I'm hosting a very late birthday party tonight and I'll probably be up and about 'till the earlier hours of Sunday. However, my body clock has managed to betray me by refusing to re-adjust to my usual school term sleeping hours. After an entire night/wee hours of the morning watching films such as The Wackness and Better Off Dead (a 1985 dark comedy which I strongly suggest for 80's teen flick lovers who have yet to see it. John Cusack was such a hottie. On second thought, he's totally rocking the DILF title even at present), attempting to play old school Snakes and Ladders by myself and reading Salman Rushdie's "The Satanic Verses", I remain alert and completely upbeat. In my heart of hearts, or better yet body clock of body clocks (???), however, I really am tired and would like to get some shut eye.

...About said very late birthday party, the party theme calls out for me to wear something neon. I'm wearing a neon yellow dress which I got on sale at this store called Tango about a year ago. It's obnoxious and great, and I use these two adjectives to describe the garment mainly because of its color. My fellow celebrants (it's a joint affair between me and three other friends) may have had some difficulty coming to terms with the neon attire, but I just love fluorescent, highlighter colors. However, I'm having trouble with two things: a.) the cut of the dress. For one, it's sleeveless. I never really expose my ginormous arms so that's an issue for me. Plus the cut of the dress is a play on this whole flapper+ice skater outfit lovechild thing. It's not a cut that suits me well, and it's obviously something I wouldn't usually wear, and b.) deciding on the right shoes. Since I immediately decided to cross out silver and later on decided that white was too safe, I'm down to either my predictable grey Charles and Keith heels or these Juan wedges with a 5 inch platform. The Juan wedges have become my loves since I purchased them over the Christmas break. Although they can be rocked with most of the things in my wardrobe, I don't know if the color of the cork platform and this one brown strap (the middle one is black and the bottom strap is in grey) might be too monotonous and "off" for the loud-colored dress.

I need help figuring this one out while dressing up. The things is I'm not sure about whose opinion to ask for since my usuals aren't going to be there during the prep time for the party. There's always my beloved, butttt Butch is probably the least opinionated boyfriend ever when it comes to outfits, makeup and the like. Ugh. I have to come to a decision in the next few hours. Maybe I'll take a picture before I leave the house. If there's one valuable thing I learned from fictional Beverly Hills betty Cher Horowitz (Clueless), it's that you can never trust mirrors and opinions. Only photos are completely credible. Always take a picture of an outfit, and clarity will follow. HAHA...

...I know it may seem extremely trivial and ridiculous to some, but shoes are arguably the most important part of any ensemble. They can make or break everything else in an outfit, which is why it's key to make the best footwear decisions possible. I swear even I'm kind of LOLing at myself right now for sounding like such a ditz, but this is a DILEMMA (oh God humiliating typo, sorry :[ ) I'm taking seriously and which I'd like to resolve ASAP. What to do, what to do!

If only I could be as secure with my clothing and shoe decisions as my idol Rumi. She rocked a neon yellow Topshop dress (reminiscent of Tinkerbell!) not so long ago and paired them with the most unexpected yet awesome boots. The outfit totally worked; she looked phenomenal, as she perpetually does.

Before I try to get at least an hour or two in, I leave you with the visual of that genius pairing :

I can only pray that my outfit ends up looking like that. Sighhh.
Wish me luck. :P
